- Then (2002) President of South Africa, Thabo Mbeki, resided at the Lanzerac Hotel & Manor during the course of the 51st Congress of the ANC in Stellenbosch. In conjunction with the SAPS Special Task Force and VIP Protection Unit, Five Star Hotel Security Services was responsible for the safety of all attending.
